Disabling Windows File Protection

Hi,

I've installed Visual Studio 6 Service Pack 6 (vs6sp6.exe) smoothly (no
reported problem) on a fully patched Win2k+sp4 server machine.

Although almost everything was ok, windows file protection (WFP) restored
5 files in system32 to their primordial versions.

Well, it seems that this service pack didn't temporarily switched off WFP.

Why does MS keep doing this *stupid* mistakes in their patches/SPs?
Is everyone looking at the NASDAQ ticker instead of working?

Anyway...

Is there any way of disabling for good (or at least temporarily) this
*automatic downgrade* feature? One that works?

SFCDisable = 1 (no go)
SFCDisable = 0xffffff9d (no go)

Regards,
rusga

PS: A good ideia was to make this WFP to be updated on demand (a sort of
system32 "snapshot") and enabled also on demand.
