I have systems set up with XP-Pro, logging into a windows 2003 domain. When
the systems are inactive for more than 15 minutes, they go into sleep mode.
When they come out of that they are set to prompt for a password. the
message that comes up is "this computer is in use and has been locked.
only user or an administrator can unlock this computer" Only the last user
or an administrator can unlock the computer. Is there any way to set this up
so that the system just gets logged out after inactivity? (if the user leave
stuff open, then just close it, and loose whatever) or as a second option is
there a way to let a non-administrator log the user out, and sign in. As it
is now once an admin clears the login then you still have to log in. I'd
like to simplify it to one login and password. I also don't want to make
everyone administrators. Thanks in advance for any info.

Check the Screen Saver tab under Control Panel --> Display. Look
for : on resume, password protect.

- They'd have to be members of the local administrators group to log the
other out.
- The power button still works fine (hold it down for 5-8 seconds, then
power the machine back on.) *grin*
- Check into the Winexit.scr screen saver.

The shutdown command can do this.

The command can be launched as a scheduled task which will run after 15min
of inactivity.

For a slightly more flexible approach, look at AutoIt's Shutdown() function.
