Disabling taskbar notification

My taskbar is set to auto-hide. When I'm working on
something, I find it very annoying when the taskbar pops
up to notify me that a pop-up/pop-under ad is trying to
get my attention, or when some other program is trying to
tell me something. The taskbar won't go away until I click
the related taskbar button.

Of course, I know that I can stop notifications in some
programs through their preferences, but is there any way
to turn off this notification feature of the taskbar?

Thanks,
Michael

Try and uncheck always on top in the Taskbar and Start Menu Properties

Michael;
You might consider turning on your firewall to stop the pop-up/pop-under
ads.

Michael;
You might consider getting TweakUI, it has a Prevent applications from
stealing focus option. General/Focus.
Look here:
http://www.winxpsolution.com/Tweakuixppro.asp
Then here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/p.../powertoys.asp
TweakUI.exe is listed on the right.
Hope this helps. Let us know.
