Disabling Old Video Card

Hello all.

I'm having a problem with my old video card. It is
an 'Intel Corporation 810 Graphics Controller Hub' and it
is internal. I have installed a new video card, an 'NVIDIA
GeForce 2 MX/MX 400' and for some reason my computer is
using BOTH video cards.

A while back, before I reformatted, I was able to disable
my intel card without having to uninstall it physically,
so that the NVIDIA was the only card I was using. But now,
when I uninstall the card it tells me to restart, and when
I restart and relog in the card is there again, working
perfectly. So, basically, the card keeps being reinstalled
without my permission. How can I disable it for good and
just use the NVIDIA?

I'm using Windows 2000 Professional

Thank you all very much,

Daniel

You should see in your BIOS settings that there is an option for primary
graphics adapter. You will probably see that it is set to onboard pci -
change it to pci or agp - whatever slot type your new card is. When it
works, right click on your old device under hardware and select disable this
device instead of uninstall.

Please excuse my ignorance, but how do I access the BIOS
to set the primary display adapter?

while your machine is booting up you should see a message such as

hit <del> to enter setup

btw: if you cannot get it disabled it's not necessarily going to hurt
anything

BTW, if it's an actual card, just remove it.
