Disabling License Logging Service

We have been receiving lots of license logging service
messages about exceeding our license count even though we
have plenty. Reading through the newsgroup the consensus
seems to be that it's ok to disable the service and just
track linsences manually.

I'm happy to do that but there is still a nagging issue.
Every 24 hours I get an event log message, 213
Replication of license information failed because the
license logging service on server <servername> could not
be contacted. Obviously this is because the service is
not running, however it is still trying to replicate.

I'm thinking that the license replication is handled by a
service other than the License Logging Service. And I
noticed that in AD Sites and Services there is an entry
called Licensing Site Settings for each site. Can I
safely delete this entry and solve this issue? And will
it have any other ramifications? If you can point me to a
TechNet article that says this is okay, that would help
me convince my manager.

Thanks
Steve
