Sometimes the WinXP Pro SP2 starts a blue screen checking the NTFS HD, is it
possible to disable it? Any registry configuration?

One reason it might be doing this is that problems are detected with the
hard drive. Does it happen with every boot or just sometimes?

Download a drive diagnostic utility from the hard drive manufacturer's web
site. This will create a bootable floppy or CD. Boot from that and run the
diagnostics.

Do you mean that you get a blue-screen crash while the disk check is
running, or that chkdsk runs at startup?

Does this happen every time, or just sometimes?

If chkdsk runs doesn't run every time (and isn't crashing), but is
frequent, consider replacing the drive.

Since you say "sometimes" it means that there was a problem with either
the shutdown that preceded the startup or you are having problems with
the hard drive. You may down load a diagnostic utility from the hard
drive manufacturers web site and run that, or consider that maybe you
are removing power while the PC is still operating?
