I have been having a problem with the Acronis Shell Extension and would like
to disable it by using the capabilities of XP and not having to resort to a
third party utility. Is thee a way I can to that from within XP?

Thank you.

Hi,

Some info for you:
http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showt...ht=tishell.dll

Also: http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/shexview.html

Added: Click Start, Run and enter REGEDIT Go to the following branches
and see if you can locate the relavent subkey.

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Drive\shell
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Drive\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers

Thank you, Kelly.

I had already seen the two links you mentioned and was looking for a way to
do it from within XP. The regedit approach seems to be what I was looking
for and I will give it a try tomorrow.

Thanks again.
