Can any one recommend a piece of software that will quickly
disable/enable drivers in Windows XP?

I ask because theres a driver I use which I need, but not all the time.
It causes my system to crash sometimes, so I'd like to leave it disabled
most of the time and then just enable it temporarily from time to time
when I need it.

Thanks.

Could you not disable the device in device manager?

Paul,

You can use devcon command line tool provided by Microsoft.
See the following page for downloads and examples:
