I used to use dialup, but now use wireless broadband.

Quite often the dialup facility pops up inviting me to login.

Can I disable this facility. I do not want to delete the function.

Have you tried Internet Explorer?
IE-Tools-Internet Options-Connections tab
check "Never Dial a connection"

You can still use dialup if you want to.
(I do occasionally)
