I have a cd/dvd burner (Sony DRU-510A) which I want to
apply a firmware change. The instructions say to disable
DMA setting before applying this patch, but I cannot find
where to do this. I have looked at the unit properties in
device manager, and it doesn't show anything pertaining to
this setting.

In the device manager go the IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers section and right
click on either the primary or secondary controller, depending on which one
your drive is connected to. Select Properties, then click the Advanced
Settings tab. You'll be able to change the settings for one or both devices
on this controller here. Set the transfer mode for your CD-ROM drive to PIO
only.

How about if I have the same program, but I am using DRU-
500 USB version?
