Hello:

i created a database in access 2003 in a PC in my officce with permissions
to a specifics accounts there.

I send me by mail a copy to another city where i need it, but i canīt open
it because i get the error message "no permission to acces to the object
mydatabase.mdb. The systems administrator or the persons who created this
object must be stablished.....".

I need know how i can open the database in the PC what i'm using now, with
a diferent .mdw file.

Regards and Thank you...Lars

Try copying not only the database, but also the workgroup information
file, from the PC on which you created the database.

Then, on the PC to which you copied those files, start the database via
a shortcut of the following form:

(all on one line)

"full path to MSACCESS.EXE"
"full path to MDB file"
/wrkgrp "full path to MDW file"

This will ensure that Access uses the proper workgroup file when it
tries to open your database.

PS. Do not over-write the system.mdw file on the target PC! Just copy
the workgroup file from the office PC, to somewhere else on the target
PC. Then in the shortcut, use the path to the /copied/ workgroup file
on the target PC.

TC

If you lose the proper mdw file, and you can not open your database any
more, you can maybe:

- restore the mdw from a backup;

- recreate the mdw from the company, organization & workgroup ID
details that you wrote down when you created the mdw;

- try finding & exploting a security hole within your database;

- look for database desecuring products, or

- be more careful next time!

TC
