I put this posting up on 10/20/09 and got some great replies from Keith
Wilby (see below). Unfortunately, I can no longer see all of the answers I
got from Keith using either Outlook Express Newsgroup Reader or through the
Microsoft web based newsgroups.

I forgot to write down his final answer on how to access the security in
Access 2007. I do apologize for my not writing this down. I hope your still
out there Keith and can help me out.

Roger
I have a few databases that I created in Access 2003 and used workgroup
security with the workgroup file up on a network share. We have now upgraded
to Access 2007 and am also using SharePoint. I want to disable the
workgroup security on these databases so that I can move them up to
SharePoint which will control the security for me. Does anyone know how to
do this or can point me in the right direction? I no longer have Access 2003
loaded on my PC only Office 2007 now too. Thanks in advance for any and all
help provided.

Keith
Give the "users" group full permissions to all of the database objects
including the database itself then import all of the objects into a new,
blank database file.

Roger
Thanks so much for the reply. How exactly would I "Give the "users" group
full permissions to all of the database objects including the database
itself" and also "import all of the objects into a new, blank database
file." Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
again.

Keith
I assumed you'd be familiar with these terms given that you stated that
you'd worked with ULS and workgroups. If that's not the case then I'd
highly recommend that you download and study the MS FAQ which will tell you
all you need to know. There's a link to it on my web site.

In a nutshell, you'd go to Tools, Security, Permissions to grant all to the
"users" group.

Roger
Thanks again for the reply. I am familiar with how to do this in Access
2003, but I no longer have this loaded on my PC. How would I do this same
thing in Access 2007 which no longer uses the workgroup security model? Any
help you could provide me would be appreciated, thanks.

Keith
I am not too familiar with A2007 and it is not on the machine I am working
on now but AIUI ULS is supported in A2007 provided that you stick to the
"mdb" file format. I have A2007 on another machine which I will look at
tonight and report back if no one else responds in the meantime.

I need the answer to my last question please. Thanks so much

Roger

Keith's response was

<q>
On the ribbon, click the "database tools" tab then use the "users and
permissions" button under "administer.
