Hi all

Does anybody know how to turn off IE's web discussions toolbar using the
registry editor or editing a file ?
I've looked in the registry for "discussions", "discuss" but haven't found
entries that look like what I need.

Thanks,
Cyrille

Cyrille,

Use the "Manage Add-ons" feature if you're using Windows XP SP2. If not, try
ToolbarCop:

Ramesh,

I'm using Windows 2000 Pro so I have tested ToolbarCop. It's fine the tool
works (it disables Web Discussions toolbar) but I want to know what do
ToolBarCop do.

I want to make a script for disabling Web Discussions, so I need to know if
I must modify registry or a config file.

Cyrille,

See here for the registry location:

To know the CLSID for the 'Discussion' toolbar, view it in ToolbarCop
report.

Thanks Ramesh

The CLSID for "Web Discussions Toolbar" is
{BDEADE7F-C265-11D0-BCED-00A0C90AB50F} (seen with ToolBarCop)

So I delete HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{BDEADE7F-C265-11D0-BCED-00A0C90AB50F}

Yes. That'll work. Removing the CLSID under the HKCU.....\Webbrowser\ key
will work as well.
