Hi,

I have a Windows XP system with a Logitech MX510 optical mouse,
which has (in addition to right & left buttons and a scroll wheel on
top)
two buttons marked <-- and --> on the side, where your thumb fits.
These are interpreted as forward and back by web browsers.
I have accidentally hit the buttons with my thumb more than once and
it's pretty annoying. Does anyone know how to disable those buttons?
I tried the mouse configuration widget on the Windows Control Panel but
that didn't seem to have anything relevant.

Thanks for any light you can shed on this problem.

You need to download/install Logitech SetPoint 3.10. The
utility allows you to define all buttons and customize mouse
settings.

**This software works as an extension of the basic mouse
applet in Control Panel

Thanks a lot, you are exactly right! It works just as I hoped it would.
