Does anyone know of to disable the explorer window from automatically
popping up when a dvd disc is inserted into the disc drive?

Try this: Double-click My Computer/right-click your DVD
Drive/Properties/AutoPlay tab/Select an action to perform/Take no action/or
check Prompt me each time to choose an action. Hope this helps. Let us
