Hi Dave,
The dialup modem is off except when needed. Users with admin
privileges are not allowed to go on-line. When a user forgets
to turn it on at boot, s/he must log off, log in as admin,
"find" the modem, log off, ...
So, it's a PITA.
BTW, the modem is USR v.everything. Another USR modem
(Sportster) does not this probles.
