The new preview pane and reading view functionality with the "helpful"
panning hand is horrble! Selecting text for cut/copy & paste is far more
useful and I can't do it without forwarding/replying the message to enable
select for cut/copy & paste. Any way to work around this/change this setting?

click the little hand in the upper right of the pane to toggle between
normal and panning.
