Hey, I just got a Gerforce3 MX 4000 128 MB DDR TV out card, but my computer already had a 32 MB S3 Savage, how do I disable the onboard? I tried disabling it in the Device Manager, and I unistalled all the components of it, but still didn't work. Then I went to the BIOS setup and the only option I could do was move the sharing from 32MB to 8MB, there was no option where I could jsut disable the whole onboard card... am I doing something wrong

(I have a eMachines T2341, AMD Athlon XP 2400+, 1.99 GHz, and 120MB (should be 128 once I disable the onboard) of RAM (I'm getting it upgraded to 256 really soon)

Have you installed the new card. If it is an AGP card it
should be detected and the on-board video disabled
automatically unless you want two monitors.

You can get AIDA32 (Google will find it for you) and it will
report the actual make and model of your motherboard. You
can then get a mobo manual by download and see the
instructions.

Well yeah the intructions said I should disable the onboard if I do have one (I do) and then shut the computer down, insert my video card (yes it's AGP) and then go into windows and install the driver from the CD etc. but it didn't work as I told you

Ok I'll try that AIDA32 program, thanks

What's a "mobo manual"

K, I downloaded this program, and it shows me all this information about my computer, thanks for telling me about this program it tells you tons of info

Anyways, when I went to AGP/PCI Video it doesn't even know that my GeForce4 MX 4000 is there

You mean I have to hook up the cord from my monitor that was in the back of my computer into the slot in the video card?

Choose the proper adapter in 'Init Display First' BIOS field. Use
http://www.ecsusa.com/downloads/l7vmm2.html and
http://www.ecsusa.com/downloads/manual_l7.html.

The monitor must be connected to the connector that you
intend to use.
