Disable HP QuickLaunch Buttons

Hi!

I have a new notebook HP Comapq 8710w and Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit. I
have a problem with Quicklaunch buttons on the stripe above the keyboard
(info, wireless, presentation, sound, volume, calculator). From time to time
(very often, so it is nearly impossible to work) they start turning on and
off by themselves (e.g., more than 200 calculators can open in 30 seconds).
It looks like the buttons are too sensitive on vibration and light. I have
the latest driver and the latest version of the HP Quick Launch application,
downloaded from the HP site. I tried to unistall the "HP Quick Launch
Buttons 64" device, but it did not help either. The quick buttons still
work.

What can I do to disable the quicklaunch buttons?
Thanks,

This is not normal behaviour and you should return the laptop for
replacement or warranty repair. Depending on what the problem is, this
little nagging issue may turn into a major problem like a complete failure
of the keyboard or another component.

Agreed it's way too sensitive and should be taken care of. My QL buttons
don't do that.
In addition, after un-installing, I would check to make sure that the
service is indeed not on the list of Windows services.

Let this forum know if this helps or if you figure out the problem, so
others can benefit. As far as I know the "notify me of replies"
does not work, so do not count on this feature.

Thank you both for the advice. Went back to the vendor, they agreed to
replace the stripe without any problems. Just have to wait for a day for the
spare part.

Thanks,
