I've got the very same issue with the added problem that much of the time I
can't get the device (a PNY Attaché 128Mb Flash Disk) to work either, even
though all shows fine in Device Manager; i.e., "working properly." There is
no doubt that this is an issue with XP; every day there is another
unresolved thread about it. The device didn't work at all before I
downloaded every non-critical windows update available (equivalent to SP1a).
If I were you, I'd just be glad that the IPOD is working!
