How to disable file system cache.

If you copy file A from drive C: to drive D: and then compare the two files
they will always be equal even if drive D: has a reading problem since the
compare is only comparing the cached versions of the files, having never
actually read from driveD:. Is there some way to disable the file caching
so that all reads from disks actually access the disk? Win2K and XP both
would be nice.
