I cannot enable / disable a network connection from the "Network Connections"
screen. I can enable / disable by selecting Properties / Configure /
Advanced and selecting enable or disable device.

When I try to enable / disable from the "Network Connection" Screen Directly
the following error message pops up.

"It is not possible to disable the connection at this time. This connection
may be using one or more protocols that do not support Plug-and-Play, or it
may have been initiated by another user or the system account.

Background Info -- I have had no problem using enable / disable using the
"Network Connection" Screen in the past month.

A few days ago I started to received "connection failed!" errors when I
tried to enable / disable connections. I then used the work around described
above to control connection but now when I go back to the "Network
Connection" screen and try to connect / disconnect I recieve the new error
described above.

I am using XP home edition service pack 2. I have both a wireless and hard
wire connection available. I only have one account on my computer and it is
set for administrative rights. I have had no issue with Plug and Play on
either connection in the past. It appears that using the configure method to
enable the connection has somehow messed up the normal enable / disable
function in the "Network Connection" screen.

I have a Linksys wireless router set up to access the internet and I connect
through it to the interned. I can use either the wireless or hardwire setup
to connect. The wireless router is set up as the gateway to the internet. I
am able to connect / disconnect the internet gateway that appears on the
Netork Connections screen but I am not able to control the network adapters.

Thanks for your help
