disable DDI??????????

I heard there was a way in previous versions of windows to turn off the
plug n play monitor detect by disabling DDI. Is there a way to do this
with WINXP? A reg hack or something? I am wanting to hook my pc up to my
HDTV, I have already created a custom monitor inf file for my TV ,now I
just need to know how to disable DDI. Any ideas?
