Dear Sir/Madam,

Is there a way of disabling the the control buttons on a
pop-up page?

If so, how do you do it?

Burt

Am I the only person who cringes at these posts? All I can think of is a
poor not-so-computer literate person (like my mom or several of my friends)
sitting there and feeling lost because they can't figure out how to close a
window without controls. They only thing they can think to do is to turn
their computer off.

And I won't mention how much it p***es me off to see someone who thinks they
can "trap" me on their site. I guarantee you - I don't visit that site a
second time. Nor would I use any product/service that does business that
way.

JL Amerson,

There are valid reasons to create windows that no not contain any control box except what is contained in the page. An example would
be a tool box of tools that are dragged to another page. The parent application would control the closing of the toolbox.

I'll grant you that application but do you think that most of the posts we
see like this are something that specific. I guess I'm a skeptic - I think
they ae trying to trap people on a page. And I'm the person that my mom and
others call on their cell phones because they don't know how to close these
windows.

Hey guy don't get so excited. I'm developing a intranet
system and didn't won't the client to accidently lose his
information without submitting it first.

I agree with you. I don't like to get trapped either.
