Hi

Is it possible to stop windows explorer from being used to browse the
internet so I can force users to use internet explorer instead?

Cheers Chris

To disable Internet Access for the current logged on user, do this:

Open Regedit

Navigate to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet
Settings

Change:

'ProxyEnable' to 1 (one)

Change:

'ProxyServer' to an invalid network proxy address. Example: 10.1.0.1:2222

The above information will block Internet access to Internet Explorer, MS
Office & other applications that rely on the proxy service.

Next, to disable changes to the proxy server settings, do this:

Navigate to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control
Panel

Create the following keys:

'Connection Settings' (DWORD) Value = 1
'Connwiz Admin Lock' (DWORD) Value = 1

I hope this is what you are looking for

You reply at the wrong level. FYI this doesn't answer the OP's question.
