Disable background printing

I have one user that has problem printing from his email (Outlook XP) to HP
laserjet 4000. When he tries to print an email that he originates or reply
to him it prints out with gray background. If he tries to print an email
that someone else send to him it prints normal (white background). I have
tried disabling the Background printing, stationary and nothing seems to
work. Any suggestion is appreciated.
