I don't if this will help, but I know in Linux distros there is a text
install so that you can pass various kernel parameters to bypass problem
hardware or add drivers. If Solaris offers a text install or other
opportunity to pass kernel parameters you might be able to get around
installing the kernel modules for ACPI.
