How can I start over?

In an effort to creat a password for my database I ended up now having to
logon to all databases. This is annoying. I obviously did something wrong
and now I do not know how to start over. I am doing nothing fancy. I am
just using MDB databases that are not syncronized with anything and no user
groups have access to my data.

You have created a password for the "admin" user in the workgroup file
that is being used. Removing admin's password will allow you to log on
without interruption.

However, there is probably a bigger issue -- you should never create
user accounts in the default System.MDW. Instead, you should create a
new workgroup file and use it for your secured databases, and use the
default System.mdw for all your unsecured databases. You must rejoin
the default System.mdw workgroup. Exact details how to do this vary
with the version of Access you are using.

I am reading your document. I love 17 page answers. Unfortunatly I now see
that all 17 pages are needed in this case. This is more complicated than I
had hoped.

I am not sure if this is what I have done. I am using Access 2003. In the
workgroup administrator window. I see the following:

Name: MyName
Company: MyCompany
Workgroup: C:\Documents and Settings\MyName\My
Documents\MyBusiness\Security.mdw

"Instead, you should create a new workgroup file and use it for your secured
databases, and use the default System.mdw for all your unsecured databases."

It appeears as though my new workgroup is now the default workgroup if I am
understanding you correctly. This appears to be the problem.

"You must rejoin the default System.mdw workgroup."

I believe that this is what must be done. Now, I have done a search on my
computer and am comming up with nothing for system.mdw. I have checked
system folders and hidden files. I have looked in Windows\system and no luck.
Could I have deleted it inadvertantly? I do not recall doing anything like
this. How do I replace it?

Thank you. A little more effort and I found it. I rejoined and all is
well. In addition I understand the security process so much better.
