could someone please tell me how to do this in word of one syllable so i can
tell a friend who is not particularly IT literate. He is miles away and i am
not familiar with AVG. The manual doesn't offer many clues.

thanks

Jon

Right click the AVG icon in the tray (by the clock)
Choose "Launch Control Center"
Double click the big "E-mail Scanner" button
When the "E-mail Scanner" setting window appears be sure the "Plugins" tab is forward.
Click the "Configure" button.
UNcheck the "certify" buttons of your choice.
Click OK. Then OK again.
