Any game that runs DirectX fullscreen mode locks up and i have to reset... the directx tests (direct3d and directdraw) also block... installed DirectX 9.0 and 9.0b on win Xp and it still locks up... I have a Sparkle Geforce 5500 FX 256 DDR.. (also tried various nVIDIA drivers)... any ideas ?

Uninstall your video drivers, remove any traces of them and try reinstalling
them in safe mode.

Install the latest motherboard chipset drivers for your motherboard.
