Chkdsk...witch does nothing but run and close and change

Are you just typing in chkdsk in the Run box?

Go to the drive's properties in My Computer and run it from there "Check
Now" under the tools tab.

You'll want to run it with "auto fix file system errors" I think that does
it's full check, I'm not sure of the switch to run it as through cmd.

Also just running 'chkdsk' on cmd will run it in read-only mode.
