I have tried installing the DirectX update and it fails each time. Here it

InstallPlugIn() failed.

I've installed my Directx but when I try to play the game I want I get the
message: Unable to create DirectDraw surface. Make sure that DirectX is
installed, and try again. I know DirectX is installed because it told me
installation complete. Any help will be greatly appreaciated but you have to
tell me in very plain english.
