The Microsoft update page scans my computer which has
Windos XP Home Edition. The website recommends
installing both DirectX 9.0A end-user runtime and Managed
DirectX.

The problem is I have successfully installed DirectX 9.0A
end-user runtime after which the Microsoft update scan
comes up with Managed DirectX as a final update needed.

Managed DirectX fails to install. It gives a message
which looks something like 2.3MB/2.3MB downloading. Then
their is a large red X with a failed installation message?

I cannot figure out why the scan would recommend Managed
DirectX update and it will not install?
