Recently I have had trouble recording sounds to my
computer. I had very scratchy results from playback. I
did a sound test and an error occurred during DirectPlay
Voice Setup. The error code is 0x80004005 and then
another error came up saying: Windows cannot execute
DpvSetup.exe , use Add?remove Programs control panel to
install. I tried seraching thru all that and then I
found a help articlessaying I had to go to Sounds and
change Hardware Accleeration. I did it all properly but
i still get the same problem. Somebody help me!

I have been having the same problem. Same codes and DPVSetup.exe notice.
I had an interview for an internet Dj position and my Mic failed. So I
tested my sound. I started receiving the same messages as you have
stated except I did find anything on changing hardware accleration. I
would have tried that if I had. However if you or anyone can help
please let me know. Needless to say I have not been able to interview.
