Directory Errors

Alright, here is my problem...I have a 40 gigabyte IBM
Deskstar hard drive. One time i was moving a large number
of directories around, probably about 18 gigabytes
worth. Well everything got moved, but there was some
error partway through or something. Now the directories
are where they are supposed to be. That's not the
problem. The problem is that the directories left
an "imprint" of themselves in the old directory. It's
still listed in the directory listing and i can't delete
it because it says "Cannot Read from the Source File or
Disk" I can even click on it and it acts like it's
reading the folder. But i can't move, copy, delete the
foler. I hooked it up as a slave drive even recently to
copy all the files off but i started up the copying
process and then it stopped because it gave that error.
I don't feel like going through copying every folder
manually. I've already tried xp checkdisk and norton
disk doctor and they both said the disk was fine. So
anyone have ideas? Or is my computer just weird..haha,
thanks for anyone that can help!
