I've started having a problem with FP 2002 in regards to
it deleting directories I've created on my web server. If
I create a dir on the server using my ftp client, then
publish my site with FP, the directory I created with WS-
FTP gets deleted from the server if there are no files in
it.
The directories I'm creating have nothing to do with my
website, they're being used as ftp dir's. Any ideas as to
why this started happening and how I can fix it?

You need to create the folder and then convert them to subwebs.

I don't think I'm following you. I never had to make them
subwebs in the past. I could create a dir directly on my
web host with WS-FTP and it would not be bothered by FP.
The next time I published with FP, it would automatically
create a _vti_cnf file in the new dir and all would be
fine.

Maybe you host has done some changes. However you really should never use external applications to
modify the web structure or content outside of FP when the web site has the FP extensions.

By creating the folder and then converting it to a subweb, FP will not bother the folder unless you
open it in FP or publish the root web and include subwebs, etc.
