My computer is saying that hardware accelerated Direct3d 9+ is not available
because the display driver does not support it. Is this stopping my games
from working and if so what do I do?? I have XP service pack2 installed .
I really do not know what I need to do. Please help.

You check the graphics card manufacturer's website for the latest XP
compatible drivers for your card.

Thanks, I did try this.

When I look in the diagnostic tool area on my lap top the device has changed
but the driver did not.

The Toshiba web site seemed to have nothing dated after 2002. Reckon I am
just bang out of luck.

Toshiba probably didn't manufacturer the graphics card in your laptop. If
you have any documentation on your computer, check that, if not, perhaps the
Toshiba website has a list of features for your model that would include the
manufacturer of the graphics card. Once found, the next move would be to go
to the graphics card manufacturer's website.
