Everything was working fine yesterday (games & all), and then I installed
another game (Diablo 2) and then inside the game I changed the video options
to play in 800x600 (instead of 640x480). I've played D2 forever and it never
did this before, but mind you this is a new computer...

Now ALL my games that use DirectX, including D2, I get a white-ish screen as
soon as it starts loading. It's all white with dark splotches & lines.
Kinda like not having the monitor plugged in properly, or bad drivers or
something.

In the dxdiag direct3D tests, the 7 & 8 work fine, but the 9 shows me that
same white screen...

I've already removed all my video drivers & reinstalled the latest ones,
along with my monitor drivers. I also have the latest DirectX.

I'm running WinXP, SP2 on a 3.0 P4, 1Gb Ram, ATI Radeon 7500 32Mb Video.
Anybody got anything to suggest?

Hi Luc,

Restore your system to the state it was in before you installed D2.

How to use Windows XP System Restore:

Me again,

I forgot to mention that system restore didn't do it either...

My monitor is a Viewsonic LED flatscreen VE150m, although I don't think that
makes much of a difference...

I've tried one of those "directx remover" sharewares, and again, no go.

Guess I'm stuck re-formatting...

Hi Luc,

Reformatting is a little too drastic for this situation in my opinion.
Your best solution would be to repair Windows using these instructions:

How to repair Windows XP:
Unplug from your Internet connection, and then repair Windows:
using this method: http://michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm

Afterwards, boot up your system, turn on your XP Internet Firewall,
plug back into your Internet connection and install all Critical and
