I've tried many different ways to install the new DirectX
9.0b drivers from the site, but it just freezes at
initialization. Any thoughts?

Hi Scott,

Please try this procedure ...

Download and install the complete DirectX 9.0b from:
http://download.microsoft.com/downlo...ate_redist.exe

*Antivirus / Firewalls can corrupt the download and installation,
I absolutely recommended you disable them during this process.
