Has anyone as yet managed find a fix to the problem that arises when the
file dxwebsetup.exe is run and the message comes that MS's own file has
not passed the Windows XP certification.

I've had a look on Google and can't find any fix that works.

Hi John
Have you already tried working through the same steps as I've outlined here?
http://www.mvps.org/marksxp/windowsx...mmon.htm#crypt
A fair amount of the time it is just because of the catroot2 folder.

Thanks Mark,

Tried it and managed to get the thing to load further than I have ever
managed - and then the bloody thing just jammed after it had copied all
the files - at the point it said that it would take "a few minutes..." 2
hours later it was still there .

I go into task manager and stop it and get the comment - "the program is
not responding"

Is it me - or Micro$oft as normal?
