Firstly you must use a laplink type of cable. It has the correct
crossovers etc. I do not know if you are using the serial or parallel
ports but the choice of cable is important. The parallel port
connection is so much faster than the serial port connection. I tried
this many years ago and I seem to recall having to install IPX
protocol, I don't know why, but the IPX protocol was required, I
tried all sort of things to make it work BUT it suddenly all worked
when I added the IPX protocol. I do not think much if any
instructions mentioned you had to use IPX. This was with Win98SE. I
would imagine that it would be much the same in XP.
