direct 3D

I'm looking for a compatible Direct 3D devices. some
programs I use keep asking for this? i seach microsoft for
it and other places but keep comin up blank.. does anyone
know what i can get this program from or where i can
purchase it... thanks for any help out there
I am running windows xp media center ED.
