I am trying to design banners for the PowerPoint slides at work, but I cannot
figure out what the dimensions of a PPT slide is. Should I use what I
would normally do for a web site (800 x 600)? Thanks in advance

(For PPT 2007) You can find the slide size by going to:

Design Tab --> Page Setup

or for earlier versions:

File --> Page Setup

Of course, you can change the size to suit your needs.

By default slides are 10"x7.5"
