Digitally Signed Emails -Cannot View in Preview Pane

Does anyone know why in Outlook 2003 when an email that has been digitally
signed cannot be viewed in the preview pane? I have to double click on these
emails to be able to read them. Any ideas? Anyway to get rid of this? I
constantly use my preview pane to view my emails.

I think the sender needs to send clear text signed message for you to be
able to read them in the preview pane.
