There seems to be a common problem having searched the web related to saving dv-avi back to camcorder. My problem is typical:

Sony dcr-trv22e Mini DV with dv in/out
MovieMaker 2

Camera is found and moviemaker can import a dv-avi file from the camera via firewire with no problems at all.
On attempt to back to the camera using the wizard the camera and wizard go through all the steps (including the camera playing forward in record mode) though all that is recorded is a blank screen and no audio.

saving to dv-avi then exporting using divo produces the same problem.

Does any one know how to sort this out?
Is this a problem with other cameras (if not I am going to take the Sony back)

you might try asking in rec.video about the specific camera model if you
don't get a good answer here about generic recording to this camera model

You can try WinDV. I use it on my Sony TRV460.

You might want to visit the Sony HC20/30/40 and DCR-TRV19/22/33 Users Group

Can you try another cam and cable to ensure neither of these is at fault? or
plug your equipment in another pc which is klnown to work with cams.
Have you done all the things like turn off all other apps etc, defragged,
Graham

Hi,
I have this exact same problem and have posted above.

Windows XP SP1
WMM 2.0.3312.0
512 Mb RAM
1.7Ghz Intel Pentium 4
Sony DCR-PC105E PAL

I can download video without any problems and I can edit and then save as WMV, etc. But when I try to send the movie back to the camcorder, it thinks it is working, but is in fact sending back a blank screen/no audio and keeps running until the tape runs out.
