One of my employees has a new IBM Thinkpad X40 with Windows XP Pro
installed. Recently he has been receiving the following error message:
"Digital line detected (PBX); please verify that our phone line from your
computer is directly connected to a standard analog on modem or fax line".
When this message appears, all open applications and windows automatically
close.
I have verified that the computer is NOT connected to our PBX but rather an
analog line for dialup modem connection.
The only application that was enabled that I thought might be causing
interference was the wireless connection. It was enabled and since we do
not have wireless available in my area I disabled it. I'm not sure if this
fixed the problem but I haven't had any complaints in about 30 minutes.
Thoughts? Ideas? This is a new one on me.
Thanks!
David
