As others have reported, I also have an issue with my digital camera not being recognized by XP. I have a vivitar V3625. When I first bought it, it worked fine on the computer, but now it has stopped working. I plug it in, but the computer doesn't even recognize that any device is attached at all. It used to be recognized as a USB Mass Storage Device. The USB port works fine as I use it for my printer all the time. I have seen this issue raised on several boards pertaining to several different manufacturers of mass storage devices, but haven't found a reason or resolution- and even had the manufacturer tell me it must be a problem with Microsoft XP. This camera works fine on my husband's laptop, which, by the way, is also running XP. Also, I had someone previously tell me to uninstall/reinstall the driver, but there is no driver to be installed for this camera; XP is suppose to recognize it with it's own pre-built in drivers.
I'm frustrated... If anyone can help, I'd be thrilled!!
