My Olympus Digi Camera shows up as a removable drive ok
when I first connect it. If I remove it then reconnect it.
It crashes on the SECOND connect. I have s dual boot on my
PC so I tried the same hardware (PC,USB,CAM,cable, etc)
under windows 98 and I can disconnect and reconnect the
usb over and over with NO crashes. I took the camera to my
PC @ work (also W2K) and it crashes too. It looks like it
is a BUG in Windows 2000 Pro. It doesn't matter if I
dismount the removable media or not either.

I've never had this problem and all my USB ports work fine with W2K and
cameras or whatever. Go to the Olympus web site and see if the have this
problem under FAQs.

I have an Olympus C-4000. I had problems hooking up the cam to the usb port
and downloading pics. It would freeze up the computer.

I ended up buying a card reader.
