Difficulty downloading from Microsoft?

I'm wondering if I may have some sort of infection. I am having
serious difficulty downloading from Microsoft. This includes updates.
If I run HijackThis and generate a log what forum would be good for an
analysis? Thanks.

I did not want to upgrade from WinXP to Win7 . I've noticed
downloading in
Win7 OS is more difficult than WinXP OS. Win7 comes with more
difficult in downloading restriction.
