different views for calendar and mail

In outlook 2003, I could make the Calendar page look different from the Mail
page. Can't seem to do in 2007. Specifically, I would like to remove the
"To Do" bar when viewing mail (more room to see other information) and have
the "To Do" bar show when in Calendar. Can this be done?
